Nick Valenzuela

About Nick

Nick Valenzuela is a dedicated public servant with a strong family background in public
service. He graduated from Arizona State University (ASU) with a bachelors in political
science and a master’s in public administration. Nick began his career at ASU working
in Financial Aid and Scholarship Services before joining the City of Phoenix, where he
has spent the last nine years contributing to various departments and roles. Starting as
a Management Intern, he has worked in the Water Services Department, served as a
Public Information Officer for the City Council, and advanced to Management Assistant
II in the Communications and City Manager’s offices. Currently, Nick serves as a
Special Projects Administrator in the City Manager’s Office, where he manages the
City’s Community Safety Plans. Nick lives in Phoenix with his partner Lupe, their one-
year-old son Elias, and their dog, Titus.

About Eyal

Founding COO of Tel Aviv University’s Interdisciplinary Research Center for Cities and Urbanism. Eyal also served as the Executive Director of The Garden Library, a community education nonprofit organization in Tel Aviv. Eyal has been a member of the World Economic Forum’s Future of Cities advisory board and was the youngest board member of the Israeli Planning Association. Eyal speaks and lectures frequently about how governments can build trust and improve decision making by engaging with the community using digital tools.
